New Year’s Resolutions

Posted on January 16, 2015 by Kara in Social Media

“Do as I say, not as I do.” Who hasn’t heard that from a parent or other authority figure? Well, we’re trying to steer as far away from that as possible. Since we asked you guys for your New Year’s resolutions, it’s only fair that we share ours with you. So here we go:

Slanted’s New Year’s Resolutions 2015!

1. Create and stick to a solid editorial calendar.

An editorial calendar is such a great asset. But, if we’re being completely honest, we at Slanted often get too busy working on our clients editorial calendars that we forget to work on our own. *gasp* We’re realizing that if we expect our clients to stick to an editorial calendar, we better be doing it ourselves! We need to set the example and have our clients follow suit.

2. Grow our client base and meet more strategic partners.

We plan to fulfill this resolution by attending one networking event per week. Strategic partners are really important to growing your business. See this article for examples of successful strategic partnerships and what they do.

3. Document internal processes.

I don’t know about you guys but we plan to grow! And in preparation for this, we want to get into the habit of documenting our internal processes. This means a detailed write up of the process we go through to create, say, an editorial calendar. This will help us streamline our efforts and make training future employees easier.

4. Launch a new website with available premium content.

For a while, we’ve wanted to update our website to better reflect the company we are and want to be. By the end of the year, we plan to have a new look and a new website to show it off. We want to incorporate online courses for those who want training and are more DIY-oriented when it comes to their content and social media.

We’ll come back to these periodically in future posts to see how we’re doing. Accountability enhances productivity. And who better to be accountable to than, well, everyone?
