Reports from the field this week are that some folks experienced a dip in the Facebook likes recently.
Don’t panic.
I found out because someone tagged me on this graphic:
I’m not sure where this came from, but whoever panicked didn’t read up very well on what Facebook was ACTUALLY doing.
Which is this: pages and profiles from folks who have deactivated their accounts or DIED were purged from your page list.
No one who is using Facebook got dropped from your page because they haven’t “engaged” with you recently. So, keep your pants on. Or leave them off, whatever. Facebook has made changes recently making it harder for our business posts to land in our fans’ feeds, but they aren’t mean enough to start dropping people randomly. Yet.
In the meantime, do your best to provide awesome content and reasons for people to want to see your posts, and you’ll be doing fine. Remember: likes NEVER equal sales, so keep them in perspective.
And hey, if Facebook, Twitter, Insta, whatever are giving you fits and becoming a major time suck, let us know. We’re great at creating engaging content backed by a solid social media strategy so you don’t have to worry about it.
